Difference between Compaction and Consolidation

 Difference between compaction and consolidation :-

 Compaction :- Compaction is  an artificial & quick process which is done to increasing the density of soil to improve its properties before putting to any use.

Consolidation :- Consolidation is a natural & gradual process. Occurs when the saturated soil deposited are subjected to static loads caused by the weight of the building and another structure.
