1. Building construction industry : This industry deals with the manufacture of building materials and buildings construction as site. They provide job opportunities as material managers ans suppliers, engineers, architects, contractors etc. both in private and public sectors.

2. Roads, bridges and airfield construction industry : This industry pertains to the construction activity of roads, bridges, and airfields. The job opportunities are similier to those as in the case of the building construction industry.

3.Hydraulic structures, dock and harbour works : The industry relates the consturction of dams , canals , and flood control structures for irrigation and flood control works,construction of docks , harbours and cargo handling yards etc. the activities in this field are in the public sector.

4.Precast concrete industry: This industry manufactures precast concrete elements such a wall panels,beams,colomns,decorative concrete pieces,concrete pipes ,sleepers,electric poles etc. This industry provides employment to engineers and technicians in the category of plant engineers, batch control operators ,laboratory and quality control technicians , from work experts and reinforcement seltters.

5.Ready mixed concrete industry: When the demand for concrete is high and the space for storage and aggregate , batching of materials and installation of  mixiers is limited . it is economical and convenient of manufacture concrete in a central plant and transport the mix to the site . This type of concrete is called ready mix concrete . the concrete requires different techniques of supervision and control and provides employment as plant engineers , laboratory and quality control technicians , batch control operators ,transport engineers and salers managers.

6.Other allied industry: Asbestors cement product industry , chemcial addative industry, machinery and equipment manufactures, from work companies  and aggregate suppliers arethe allied industries where the knowledge of concrete industry is essential.
