(a) Cross-Sectional Elements : Right of way, formation width, road margin, road shoulder, carriageway, side slopes, kerbs, formaton levels, gradient and camber.

(b) Speed of vehicles : Design speed, average running speed.

(c) Sight distance : Stopping sight distance, overaking sight distance.
