Calculate Horizontal distance by Auto Level :
Now we are calculating horizontal distance between two point.
First we have to set up our machine
After that,
from wherever we have to calculate the distance, We will have two points for
which we have to find the distance, first we have to set the machine at the
first point and keep the staff at the second point.
From where we have to see the readings, that is the normal of the staff, so what we see the readings are from the cross hairs, but in the case of horizontal distance, we have to see the reading on staff the upper hair and the lower hair, which we called upper stadia reading and lower stadia reading in technical language, then take the reading from upper stadia or lower stadia and note down

After this we have a formula from which we will find the horizontal distance which is
Upper Stadiareading - Lower Stadia reading x 100
This
is the formula by which we calculate distance
From the above readings we have taken, we will subtract the lower study readings from the study readings and multiply by 100.
For
example :-
The Upper stadia reading = 2.367
Lower
stadia reading = 2.336 Then we have
to subtract them
= 0.031
Now,
as per formula 0.031 is get after subtract.
now, 0.031 is multiply by 100
0.031x100 = 3.1 Meter is the distance between
these point.
In this way we can find the distance of any two point without chain and tape.
This is the easiest method to find distance between two point. It is very important to find out the horizontal distance between two point with the help of Auto level for the survey engineer who work on highway construction.
